Fleece Blanket & Duffle Bag Workshop --4-H Members will team up with Home & Community Education (HCE) Members who will mentor them on making fleece blankets and duffel bags to be given to Green County Foster Care children.
When a child is placed in foster care, he/she will receive the duffle bag and a fleece blanket of their own. The bag can be used to carry the child's personal belongings. The blanket can be used as a source of comfort for the child at a difficult time. We are also hoping to place a small stuffed animal in each bag. We will be teaching the youth how to make no-sew fleece blankets and also will help them sew a duffle bag with a draw string. The 4-H member will need to have some knowledge of using a sewing machine. All supplies will be provided and there is no cost. Please bring your own sewing scissors.
