Green County Leaders2009 - 2010 Green County Leaders Course Site

To provide an educational program where individuals practice leadership skills, deepen their understanding of community issues and prepare for leadership roles, thereby creating a network of individuals committed to the future of Green County.

  • Leadership Resources - are available at the Monroe Campus of Blackhawk Technical College in the Learning Resource Center. Hours are 8:00am-8:00pm Monday-Thursday; 8:00am-3:00pm on Fridays, and 8:00am-Noon on Saturdays.

    1. Read Chapter 5, 6, and 7 in "The Framework of Your Wisconsin Government" ( you will be given copies of this publication at the October session)
    2. Attend a public hearing or other local government meeting. Observe what decisions are being made. How do these decisions relate to community needs/issues? Observe the interactions among the elected officials. How is leadership expressed during the meeting? Use the attached worksheet for summarizing your meeting attendance.     3. Determine if and how community needs/challenges identified during the cafe' are being addressed and identify which needs you have a passion for. (more guidance to come)

    Economic development is a complex topic for leaders to address.
