* What is a TIF District? -- Tax Incremental Finance is an economic developmental financial tool that can be used to promote tax base expansion and job creation. It is targeted toward geographic areas taht have become blighted, or are in need of rehabilitation or conservation work, or to promote industrial development or "mixed-use" development in areas which are experiencing declining value. *Saving Energy is Good for Business -- Two self-assessment guides on "Saving Energy is Good for Business": (1) Lighting, and Heating; (2) Ventilating, Air Conditioning, (HVAC) and Water Heating; have been designed to be informational and to allow you to evaluate your business energy use. They provide specific information about energy efficient lighting; water heating and HVAC equipment that will help you save energy. The guides are part of an Energy Kit provided by the UWEX Solid & Hazardous Waste Education Center (SHWEC). Additional energy information can be obtained from the Focus on Energy website.
