Kris Winkler and Lynn Lokken will be assisting any interested 4-H members and their parents or leaders in making a Quilted Fabric Box.  This could be entered under Home Furnishings or Cultural Arts at the Fair.

Skills to be taught:  Using an iron to fuse bondable fleece.  Using the sewing machine and learning to stitch and follow straight lines, along with using several quilting tools, and attaching buttons.

Please bring the following:
-Sewing Machine in working condition
-Two (2) contrasting cotton fabrics (we will cut this fabric to a -12 inch square at the workshop, DO NOT pre-cut the two fabrics)
-Scissors
-4 Buttons to be hand sewn onto the finished fabric box
-Needle for Hand Sewing
(We will furnish the fleece)

Pre-registration is required no later than Sunday, February 18 using the following link: https://goo.gl/forms/24OjggcWMl5Q4sXi1

There is NO COST and you will leave with a completed project for the Fair.  Some sewing knowledge is helpful, as this is not a beginner’s project. A sample of the project is available at the UW-Extension office.
