Dog Project Kick off Open House
Tuesday, February 13, 2018
6:30 – 8:00 PM
Rooms 2 & 3, Green County Justice Center, Monroe

If you plan to participate in the 4-H dog project this year, be sure to attend the dog project kick-off and open house. We’ll have your registration paperwork available, and you’ll be able to pay your dues and ask any questions you might have about the dog project. All dog families will be receiving a mailing with more information in late January.

If you wish to participate in the dog project this year, but were unable to attend the 2/16/17 kick off open house, please pick up your dog packet at the Green County UW-Extension office as soon as possible. Note that paperwork and fees are due March 27 at 4:30 PM (see below).

Obedience & Showmanship Training
Instructors:

Location:
Green County Fairgrounds, Monroe, WI
Dates: 
 Thursdays beginning April 13, 2017
Times: Pre-Novice A will meet during the first hour (6:30-7:30). Pre-Novice B and up will meet during the second hour (7:30-8:30).

Project Member/Dog Team must obtain a qualifying score in Pre-Novice in order to participate in showmanship.  Project member should know their dog’s breed or the breed the dog most closely resembles as well as their dog’s anatomy, and nutrition and health routine.  A showmanship style lead and collar is required and members will be required to meet a dress code for showing showmanship at the Green County Fair Dog Show.  Members are required to attend three of our five training classes offered to be eligible to show at the fair.  Showmanship classes will be held in coordination with the obedience classes.  

Agility Training

Location: Green County Fairgrounds, Monroe, WI
Dates: Tuesdays beginning April 11, 2017
Times: All Agility classes run from 6:30-8:30 PM.

Only dog/trainer teams that have successfully completed at least one 4-H year of dog training are allowed to participate in agility.  You must attend at least 50% of the classes offered in order to show agility at the fair.
